1. What are T8 and T5 fluorescent tubes?
The fluorescent lamps (fluorescent tubes) are classified according to their diameter in various categories.
The letter "T" stands for "tube" (tube = rod-shaped fluorescent lamp). The number after the "T" stands for eighth inch (1 / 8 × 25.4 mm = 3.18 mm). A T5 tube, for example, has a diameter of 5 / 8 inches, which is about 16 mm.
